Which is easier to remove from cloth?
In this test, I was trying to figure out which type of soda was easier to remove from clothing. This test is very important because when buying a soda, people prefer the one that is easier to clean or remove. The sodas that where involved in this experiment where Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and 7 select cola. In this case, Coke (A) was the easiest to remove, then Pepsi (B), and the hardest one to remove was 7 select cola (C). For this experiment, white shirts helped me determine which soda left more spots because in the color white, the spots can be seen more. I added 60 ml more in each trial so the total number of ml I added to each shirt was 180. I noticed that 7 select cola was the hardest one to remove because I had to put a lot of effort to try to remove the spots and in the end, some spots where still able to be seen. Sodas are actually really easy to remove from cloth and it was hard to notice the spots that where left on some of the shirts.
Materials:
- Coke (1 bottle)
- Pepsi (1 bottle)
- 7 select cola (1 bottle)
- 3 white shirts of the same brand
- Beaker
- Soap
- Water
Procedure:
1. Pour 60 ml of one of the sodas into a beaker
2. Add the soda to one of the white shirts of the same brand
3. Take a picture
4. Clean the shirt with soap and water and give it a score out of 10 (10 = easiest to clean)
5. Put it in the sun for 15 minutes so that it can dry
6. Take a picture to see how much spots the soda left on the shirt
7. Go on to the next soda and do the same thing with the same amount of soda
8. And then do the same things to the next soda.
9. Complete trail #2 and #3 by doing the same
10. Add 60 ml in each one of the three trials.
